Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines revealed that she was lifted up on a chair by security in order to escape the shooting at White House Correspondents’ dinner hosted by Donald Trump.
During the Saturday night dinner, a shooter attempted to enter the White House with arms and started firing outside the ballroom. Despite the shots being fired President Donald Trump and others officials escaped unharmed.
Cheryl, who is the wife of Trump cabinet member Robert F. Kennedy Jr, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, was also present at the dinner and took to her Instagram account after she escaped the shooting to share what she witnessed with her eyes.
”Okay, so I just got back from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. That was a crazy, um, moment in time,” she began in a clip.
The actress went on to share details, “We were there and we heard shots and, um, everybody got under the tables. Nobody knew what was going on, and then, um, you know, Bobby’s security detail surrounded us and took us…. I mean, really, like, had to lift me over chairs, because I’m in heels and and a gown, and, um, and they took us through all of the back ways, and we, uh, got in the car, and left. So, anyway, I’m just giving you a little update.”
As per recent development, the suspect, named Cole Tomas Allen, was arrested, authorities revealed and Trump also shared the suspect’s photo on Truth Social.
The suspect shot a U.S. Secret Service agent in his bulletproof vest, sending him to the hospital.
In a follow-up post, Cheryl expressed her gratitude to her followers for sending her well wishes.
She said, “So, um, thank you for everyone reaching out, asking if we’re okay, and we are okay, and I thank you for that. Um, I’m in my pajamas now. Watching the news break, just like you guys. Um, but everybody stays safe.”
