PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi beat Multan Sultans by 24 runs


KARACHI In the 22nd match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 24 runs at National Stadium Karachi.

Chasing a target of 197, Multan Sultans could only manage 172 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Shan Masood was the top scorer with 35 runs, followed by Josh Philippe with 32 and Steve Smith with 31. Captain Ashton Turner scored 20, while Sahibzada Farhan made 17. Mohammad Nawaz added 16 runs, while Arafat Minhas and Mohammad Wasim scored 4 runs each.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Sufiyan Muqeem took 3 wickets, while Naveen-ul-Haq and Iftikhar Ahmed claimed 2 wickets each. Aamer Jamal picked up 1 wicket.

Earlier, batting first after being put in by Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi posted 196 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted overs. Kusal Mendis led the scoring with 68 runs. Mohammad Haris made 38, while Farhan Yousuf contributed 30 runs. Captain Babar Azam scored 18, Michael Bracewell added 14, and Iftikhar Ahmed made 10 runs. Abdul Samad (4) and Aamer Jamal (2) remained not out.

For Multan Sultans, Peter Siddle and Mohammad Ismail took 2 wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim claimed one wicket apiece.
