Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the attack on Imambargah Khadijat-ul-Kubra in Tarlai was a deliberate attempt to create sectarian division, but the nation thwarted the conspiracy through unity and resilience.
The prime minister visited the imambargah in Tarlai, met with the mosque administration and the families of the victims, and inquired about the condition of the injured. He paid glowing tribute to Aoun Abbas, the civilian who was martyred while trying to overpower the suicide attacker.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that terrorists have no religion and that such acts are aimed at dividing the nation. He praised law enforcement agencies and the armed forces for their continuous operations against terrorist elements, adding that the entire nation stands indebted to the sacrifices of its security forces.
Announcing financial assistance for the affected families, the prime minister declared Rs10 million for the family of Aoun Abbas. He further announced Rs5 million each for the families of other martyrs, Rs3 million for the seriously injured, and Rs1 million for those with minor injuries.
He also assured that the children of the martyrs would be offered government jobs and announced that Aoun Abbas would be awarded a high civil honor on August 14.
The prime minister said the entire nation is grieving over the tragic incident and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country, ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain.
