The price of 10-gram gold also declined by Rs1,800 to Rs377,174, the association said.
Gold had gained Rs7,600 per tola over the preceding three business days before Monday’s decline.
The downturn followed a fall in international bullion prices, where gold dropped by $21 to $4,174 per ounce, according to rates reported by the association. Business Recorder and ProPakistani also reported the same local and international prices.
Silver prices moved lower as well, falling by Rs23 per tola to Rs6,532.
Gold prices in Pakistan are influenced by movements in international bullion markets and the rupee-dollar exchange rate, alongside local market conditions. Gold is often viewed as a safe-haven asset during periods of economic and geopolitical uncertainty, although its price can also fall as global market conditions and investor expectations change.
