Lindsay Clancy has appeared in court for the first time since her murder trial fell apart, with lawyers on both sides arguing how to proceed with the case.
Her defence argued that the judge should use his power to declare her not guilty. Her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, also brought a new defence forward arguing there was not enough evidence to prove Clancy killed her children.
Posecutors say the state “met its burden” in proving Clancy’s guilt. During court, both sides also resisted the judge’s request to decide a potential retrial date, arguing that important legal questions still need to be decided first.
