The Indiana Fever didn’t get what they hoped for in the WNBA season finale against the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night.
The WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark had a career’s worst performance in the regular season finale as the Fever were routed by the Lynx 86-66.
Minnesota wipes out all the momentum the Fever had in the rematch, restricting Caitlin Clark to a career-low two points on 1-of-12 shooting (1-for-8 at halftime) in 18 minutes of action.
Clark had the chance in hand to earn the title as WNBA’s first player to reach the 900-point and 300-assist milestone in a single season but showed a poor performance on Thursday night.
Clark headed into Thursday’s game scoring just 11 points short of the 900-point mark but fell short, posting with just two points, three assists, and four rebounds.
The Fever guard, Clark closes the regular season with averages of 22.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
The Indiana Fever closed the regular season with a record of 28 wins and 15 losses.
After the WNBA regular season came to a close on Thursday night, the playoffs’ first round begins on Sunday, September 27.
