Taylor Swift has announced another, and this time an extended project, while fans were already processing their excitement for her upcoming single, Patient Zero.
The 36-year-old pop superstar took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, and announced a deluxe version of her album, The Life of a Showgirl, which she has been hinting at for almost a year.
The Mastermind hitmaker penned in the caption, “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.”
Swift continued, “I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs. I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made. The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now.”
The 14-time-Grammy winner’s new project comes out on the same day as her single, Patient Zero.
It includes four new songs in addition to the original Showgirl songs, including – Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon.
Swifties had been theorising about an Encore project since Showgirl’s release as Swift had placed Easter Eggs in all her promotional content for the album.
