British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Monday that there is a potential deal for a “sustained” 40-day Gaza cease-fire. The deal could also include the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza and “potentially thousands” of Palestinians in Israel, he said in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Also in Riyadh, Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the proposal “extraordinarily generous on the part of Israel.” A Hamas delegation is in Cairo for ongoing cease-fire negotiations, and Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq said the group is examining a proposal.
