Already one the best selling videogame of all time, Minecraft has cleared a major milestone and sold 300 million copies worldwide.
Helen Chiang, head of Mojang Studios, said, “As we approach the 15th anniversary, Minecraft remains one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 300 million copies sold, a milestone no one could have dreamed of when we were all placing our first blocks.”
The milestone was announced during Minecraft Live 2023 event which shares news and community updates, along with a neat voting event in which players can vote on which new creature should be added to the game.

The second best selling videogame of all time, Grand Theft Auto V has sold only 185 million copies, while the best selling console PS2 sold 155 million units. Minecraft doesn’t come close to either of these.
