A surprise iPad update announcement might be making its way this week, rumors claim. 9to5Mac corroborated the report from Supercharged that the company will announce spec bumps for three of its iPads.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gunman, however, said “I don’t believe updates of any significance are imminent,” while he admitted that versions of iPads with new chips were in development.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple will make the announcement in a press release, where the iPad Air and the iPad mini will be bumped to M2 and A16 Bionic chips. While the iPad Air and 10th generation iPad were refreshed last year, the company has yet to update the iPad Mini with A15 Bionic chips.

The rumor also details an update to the display controller to address the jelly scroll issue, in the iPad Mini. However, the report warns that the update will not bring in big changes like new OLED displays.
