Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Jessica Lewis hosted this year’s U.S.-Chile Political-Military Dialogue at the U.S. Department of State on September 26. The dialogue reaffirmed our commitment to the close bilateral political-military relationship with Chile, identified security areas of mutual interest, and further deepened our partnership in the areas of maritime security, peacekeeping operations, defense and strategic trade, and information-sharing.
Assistant Secretary Lewis and other U.S. officials from the Departments of State and Defense held talks with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Alex Wetzig, Director of International and Human Security Affairs Ignacio Llanos, and other Chilean Government officials.
