Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, convened with Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters on Monday, commending the pivotal role of the Pakistan Army in upholding peace and stability within the region.
In discussions facilitated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both leaders delved into matters of mutual interest, focusing on strategies to bolster bilateral defence cooperation between their respective nations.

Expressing contentment with the profound ties existing between Pakistan and Turkey, rooted in shared historical, cultural, and religious bonds, the discussions underscored the significance of further fortifying military-to-military collaboration.
Highlighting the imperative of nurturing existing military alliances, General Munir emphasized the need for continuous efforts aimed at enhancing synergy between the armed forces of both countries.
Before the meeting, General Bayraktaroglu paid homage at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada upon his arrival at the GHQ. A meticulously presented guard of honour by the Pakistan Army showcased the country’s esteem for the visiting dignitary, exemplifying the profound respect and camaraderie shared between the two nations.
