Miranda Kerr openly spoke about how she suffered from depression after ending her marriage with Orlando Bloom.
The Australian model recently appeared on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, where she revealed how going through the divorce was one of her difficult challenges.
“Obviously my public divorce, separation with Orlando, that was something that was another challenging time,” said Miranda, adding, “After we separated, I went through a little bit of like, depression.”
“And it was so odd for me because I’m a naturally joyful person. And like my mother would call me Giggly Gertrude. Like that was my name, my nickname as a kid because it was always very joyful and giggly,” she continued.
The 43-year-old then explained why the breakdown of her marriage to Orlando was so emotionally difficult for her at the time.
“Going through… the thought of being with someone and then having your life together and then that not being the case is something, you know, it was very challenging for me, but I knew that it was the right decision and we remained super friendly and close throughout it all and have put the needs of Flynn first before our own needs,” said Miranda. “And I feel like we’ve done really well at that. “
To overcome the shock of the end of her relationship and move forward in life, the Victoria’s Secret model said she turned to meditation and yoga to focus on herself.
“This is a decision that we both mutually agreed was good for us. I understand logistically, but my body isn’t catching up to my mind that understands, right?” she explained. “So there was some kind of disconnect that was happening and I and I just felt like I wasn’t the best version of myself.”
“I felt like my body had to move through the waves of feelings that would come up out of nowhere and it was processing and it was really just me giving myself the time to process and instead of trying to fix it like automatically, it was time to feel the feelings,” added Miranda.
For those unaware, Miranda and Orlando were married from 2010 to 2013. The exes share a 15-year-old son, Flynn.
