A massive 290ft super yacht that captured attention on Marina del Rey all week has been revealed to belong to none other than “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling.
The vessel arrived on Sunday, August 30, with its name suspiciously covered that sparked intense speculation among locals and harbor watchers.
The yacht, named Samsara, was built around 2015 by Oceanco and originally named “Infinity.” Rowling bought it in 2023 from Australian billionaire Brett Blundy. Its value has been estimated at a staggering $150 million.
The boat’s ownership is confirmed by the local boat captains. The 89-meter yacht has accommodation for 12 guests and 26 crew members, featuring amenities including a circular swimming pool, movie theater, and beach club. Rowling, whose net worth is estimated at $1.2 billion, has not been seen publicly since docking and has not posted about her LA visit on her official account.
Her Harry Potter franchise remains the highest-selling novel series of all time, with 600 million copies sold worldwide.
