Pakistan keeps diplomatic channels open with US, Iran to sustain talks – SUCH TV



Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts to promote peace and stability while maintaining ongoing diplomatic engagement with the United States and Iran.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing on Thursday, FO Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan believes in dialogue-based diplomacy to resolve complex issues.

He added that Turkiye has consistently supported Pakistan’s peace efforts, and its president has appreciated the initiatives taken by Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The spokesperson said the prime minister also met the president of the European Union, with both sides stressing the importance of negotiations and diplomacy.

He further stated that PM Shehbaz had been in contact with the leadership of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The Iranian president appreciated Pakistan’s peace efforts, while the prime minister welcomed Iran’s decision to send a delegation to Pakistan.

The spokesperson said Saudi Arabia has played an important role in Pakistan’s economic stability, adding that the prime minister thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for continued support.

He also confirmed that the prime minister met the Emir of Qatar, with Qatari leadership acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

Responding to a question, Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan considers Somaliland to be part of Somalia.
