Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Sunday issued a strong rebuttal to what it termed “false claims” made by a so-called spokesperson, Hamdullah Fitrat, accusing him of spreading misinformation regarding Pakistan’s actions in Afghanistan.
In an official fact-check statement, the ministry asserted that Pakistan only carried out precise and targeted operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and Afghan Taliban terrorist infrastructure inside Afghanistan.
It emphasized that these operations include precision air strikes, as well as the destruction and capture of militant posts and equipment.
The statement noted that details of these operations, including the number of militants killed or injured, are regularly updated and supported with visual evidence, in contrast to what it described as “made-up infographics” circulated by propagandist elements.
Highlighting security concerns, the ministry claimed that the international community has witnessed attacks carried out by Indian-sponsored Afghan Taliban elements and their affiliated proxies.
It specifically referred to a recent attack in Domail, Bannu, in which 10 civilians, including women and children, were killed.
The ministry said that Afghan nationals are continuously being used in terrorist activities inside Pakistan, adding that evidence of such involvement has been publicly presented, including during the Balochistan Home Minister’s Conference held on April 5.
Citing international findings, the statement claimed that terrorist leadership is being harbored inside Afghanistan, with multiple UN and global reports confirming the presence of numerous militant proxies operating under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban regime.
The ministry accused Fitrat and other alleged spokespersons of routinely sharing fake, outdated, and even AI-generated propaganda material, claiming that such narratives are amplified by Indian media and propaganda networks.
Concluding its statement, the ministry reiterated that “truth always prevails over falsehood,” reaffirming Pakistan’s position on counterterrorism efforts and information transparency.
