Military leadership briefs PM Shehbaz Sharif at GHQ on Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions; PM stresses zero tolerance for militant actions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed by the military leadership on the evolving Pakistan-Afghanistan situation during a meeting held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday.
Zero Tolerance’ for Militancy
During the briefing, the prime minister said there should be zero tolerance for the nexus and malicious actions of Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban regime.
“The actions of the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khawarij against Pakistan are unacceptable,” he said.
He added that the Pakistani Armed Forces, under the leadership of Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, remain fully prepared to defend the country.
“Pakistan knows how to defend itself against any aggression,” the premier remarked.
Praise for Armed Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the professional capabilities of the armed forces for responding effectively and repelling attacks in border areas.
He reiterated that the entire nation stands united with the armed forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
