At least 11 people were killed and 10 others injured in a devastating traffic accident on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Sindh’s Khairpur district.
According to rescue officials, the tragedy occurred when a speeding passenger coach collided with a trailer while attempting to overtake. The driver and conductor of the coach were also among those who lost their lives.
All deceased and injured victims were shifted to Khairpur Civil Hospital. Authorities confirmed that the ill-fated bus was traveling from Punjab to Karachi at the time of the accident.
Following the incident, the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh directed the SSP Khairpur to ensure immediate police response at the crash site. He also ordered that rescue and relief operations in and around the area be carried out efficiently.
The incident comes just a day after another fatal crash near Kathore, where 13 people were killed when a passenger bus, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, collided with an oil tanker near Ansari Bridge.
Several other vehicles were also damaged in that collision, and passengers sitting on the roof of a van fell from the bridge during the impact.
Authorities are investigating the latest accident as concerns grow over road safety and reckless driving on major highways.
