Pakistan opposes use of force or sanctions against Iran The Foreign Office spokesperson has made it clear that it will not become a part of the Abraham Accords by joining the Peace Board. Pakistan opposes interference in Iran’s internal affairs and imposing sanctions against it. Pakistan’s position is that peace and stability in the region is possible only through diplomacy and dialogue.
In a weekly news briefing, he clarified that Pakistan has not made any decision to become a part of the International Stabilization Force nor does it intend to become a part of the Abraham Accords by joining the Peace Board.
He said that the Peace Board is not an alternative to the United Nations but a message of hope for the Palestinian people.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said during the briefing that the US has upgraded its travel advisory on Pakistan, after which more people will now be able to travel to Pakistan from the US.
According to him, this travel advisory presents Pakistan as a safe country, which is a positive development at the international level.
He said that the President of Kazakhstan will visit Pakistan soon and the dates of his visit will be announced soon. According to the spokesperson, this visit will prove to be important in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaking on regional tensions, Tahir Andrabi said that Pakistan has always been a supporter of resolving issues through peace and diplomacy and advocates resolving all outstanding issues through dialogue.
He said that Pakistan is against the use of force and has also opposed imposing sanctions on Iran.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister contacted their Iranian counterparts twice, while a meeting was also held with the American side in Davos, in which the overall situation in the region was discussed.
He said that this region cannot afford war and turmoil because such a situation fundamentally hinders economic development, peace and prosperity. That is why Pakistan wants the path of peace and diplomacy to prevail in the region.
