The story of a final year design student has left even Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal deeply inspired. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, he shared a screenshot of a message he received from an employee who previously worked as a delivery agent at Blinkit and is set to join Zomato’s design team soon. Atharv Singh sent the message to Goyal.
In his message to the Zomato co-founder, Atharv shared how his life had come full circle, from working as a picker in Blinkit to joining the company as a designer. He revealed that he decided to join as a delivery agent when his father refused to support his education. “I’m a 4th-year design student. I had to manage my own funds for college fees and rent, and other expenses, as my dad didn’t support my education,” he said.
The Student Explained How He Began Working As Blinkit Picker
At times, he even found it hard to make it through each month, until an Instagram ad announcing Blinkit’s hiring drive became a turning point in his life. “I rushed to the nearest dark store and worked for 4 months, and life just kept getting better ever since,” he explained. Then, very happily, Atharv revealed that he was about to join the design team at Zomato.
He shared, “Now here I am, who worked as a picker in Blinkit, joining your design team at Zomato. Really grateful for what you’ve built and absolutely lucky to be a part of this! Just 1% done, this Blinkit boy will now deliver design at Zomato.” Responding to the message, Goyal wrote, “Thanks for sharing your story. Lit me up.”
