Security forces killed five armed militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti.According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession. The militants had been involved in multiple acts of terrorism. Clearance operations have been continued in the area to eliminate remaining threats.
Separately, security forces carried out two operations in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of nine armed militants.
Operations in Tank and Lakki Marwat were conducted on the basis of intelligence. In Tank, seven militants were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces. A similar operation in Lakki Marwat resulted in the elimination of two militants. The militants had been receiving external support.
The ISPR said that the slain militants had been involved in multiple attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians. A substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered during the operations. Security forces have expressed their resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country.
