The Sindh government has decided to take strict action against petrol pumps found supplying less fuel to consumers. The Department of Price and Dispatch has initiated a crackdown starting today, targeting pumps in two Karachi districts.
In an official letter addressed to the director general and the controller of Price and Dispatch, the department instructed teams to conduct discreet inspections of petrol and diesel dispensers at fuel stations in District East and District South.
The surprise checks aim to identify pumps involved in short-measuring and ensure consumers receive the correct quantity of fuel they pay for.
They have also been directed to use an equipment for measurement, and fine and seal the petrol pumps of those who dodge the consumers.
