A cowardly attack targeted a security forces convoy by the Indian-backed militant group Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation regarding the presence of militants and a suicide bomber.According to officials, the leading security group intercepted a vehicle carrying a suicide bomber and successfully foiled the planned attack, which aimed to target innocent civilians and law enforcement personnel. The timely action prevented a major tragedy.
During the operation, security forces engaged militants in a fierce exchange of fire, killing five terrorists. However, in desperation, the militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into one of the leading security vehicles.

As a result of the attack:
Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gul Faraz (43, resident of Mansehra)
Sepoy Karamat Shah (28, resident of Peshawar)
embraced martyrdom. Officials stated that both officers were known for their bravery and frontline leadership.

Authorities said the militants continue to use Afghan territory to carry out attacks inside Pakistan, even during the holy month of Ramadan. Pakistan has reiterated that those responsible for such cowardly acts will be pursued wherever they are.
