The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday barred the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from arresting Najaf Hameed, brother of ex-spymaster Faiz Hameed, in a fraud case besides suspending a special judge central’s decision to cancel the pre-arrest bail granted to Najaf.
The FIA had filed an application for the cancellation of the bail, which the judge accepted.
Najaf, later, moved the IHC against the cancellation of his bail.
His counsel told the court that the trial court had granted bail to his client after properly listening to arguments.
“However, later, the order was withdrawn without giving any reason,” he added.
Justice Inam Ameen Minhas issued notices to the state and other parties to the case and sought their replies.
