Pakistan and Uzbekistan have signed twenty-nine memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements across diverse fields. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev witnessed the document exchange ceremony in Islamabad this evening.
The areas of cooperation include trade, commerce, defence, agriculture, sports, mining, geosciences, anti-narcotics, information technology, maritime trade, pharmaceuticals, education and textiles.
In addition, the two leaders signed a joint declaration.
On the occasion, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was conferred an honorary doctorate degree by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
