Heavy snowfall trap over 100 vehicles in Tirah Valley – SUCH TV

Around 100 vehicles were stranded in different areas of Tirah Valley due to heavy rain, snowfall, and landslides on Friday, prompting large-scale rescue operations.

A special emergency ward has been set up at Hayatabad Medical Complex to provide urgent medical care to the injured.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has directed authorities to remain on high alert, ensuring doctors and paramedical staff are available 24/7.

Emergency, surgery, orthopaedics, and blood bank services have been fully activated, with sufficient medicines, surgical tools, and medical supplies in place.

The Pakistan Army and local administration are assisting residents evacuating temporarily from Tirah.

Twenty people have been rescued and moved to safe locations.

Affected individuals are being provided with food, warm shelters, and other necessities, and transportation is being managed without interruption.

Secretary Relief Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Khan, said about 100 vehicles remain stranded, with 35 people already moved to safety.

Rescue teams from Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, and Mardan are on site with over 50 personnel, 16 ambulances, and heavy machinery.

Ten trucks carrying blankets, sweaters, bedding, and other essentials have also been dispatched.

According to PDMA, road closures due to snowfall have blocked the Tirah road, and district administrations are conducting rescue operations.

Rescue 1122 has deployed 15 personnel, recovery vehicles, ambulances, medical supplies, and rescue equipment from Peshawar.

DG PDMA has instructed all district administrations to remain alert while monitoring the situation across the province.
