Four new Amrit Bharat Express! PM Modi to flag off trains – check routes, stoppages & schedule – The Times of India


For now the Amrit Bharat Express trains have only non-air-conditioned coaches, combining general seating with second-class sleeper accommodation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off four new Amrit Bharat Express trains on Saturday with an aim to enhance train travel experience and connectivity for the common man. The Amrit Bharat Express trains are modern trains which operate on a push-pull configuration with a locomotive at each end.The new Amrit Bharat Express trains will be on the following routes:

  • Alipurduar – SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express
  • Alipurduar – Mumbai (Panvel) Amrit Bharat Express
  • New Jalpaiguri- Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express
  • New Jalpaiguri- Tiruchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express

For now the Amrit Bharat Express trains have only non-air-conditioned coaches, combining general seating with second-class sleeper accommodation. The push-pull arrangement enables quicker pickup and braking, allowing the train to run at speeds of up to 130 kmph.

New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express Schedule & Stoppages:

Train number 20603 New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 4:45 PM on Wednesday to reach Nagercoil at 11:00 PM on Friday. Amrit Bharat Express Trains Top Features

  • The Amrit Bharat Express trains have upgraded seating and berths, foldable snack tables, LED lighting fixtures and fans fitted with stainless-steel grills.
  • Indian Railways says that the ride quality has been improved by air-spring suspension bogies. There is onboard communication through a passenger information system.
  • Additional conveniences for passengers include mobile holders, radium-lit floor guidance strips and toilet occupancy indicator lights.
  • Each coach has four toilets; two Indian-style and two Western-style units – all of which are fitted with electro-pneumatic pressurised flushing systems.
  • Safety and hygiene measures include aerosol-based fire suppression systems installed in toilets and electrical compartments, along with automatic soap dispensers, foldable bottle holders and sealed vestibule gangways.
  • Individual charging points are provided for every passenger.
