Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that after achieving economic stability, the government is now focused on taking concrete measures for economic growth.
He made these remarks in his opening statement while chairing a meeting of the Federal Cabinet in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said the government has signed a memorandum of understanding with a financial technology company to promote digital transactions in the country. Under the MoU, digital infrastructure will be developed, and transactions will be carried out through data centres and cryptocurrency, which will significantly benefit Pakistan’s economy.
Shehbaz Sharif also extended felicitations to the armed forces and all stakeholders on the successful launch of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System by the Pakistan Air Force and the LY-80N missile system by the Pakistan Navy.
Referring to the global recognition of the performance of Pakistani fighter jets during Mark-e-Haq, the Prime Minister said several countries are actively engaged in discussions with Pakistan for the acquisition of these aircraft.
The Prime Minister commended the security forces and law enforcement agencies for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue combating terrorism until its complete elimination.
Highlighting the Federal Government’s development initiatives for Balochistan, Shehbaz Sharif said the Karachi-Chaman Road is being constructed at a cost of four hundred billion rupees. He said work on the 850-kilometre-long project is progressing at a rapid pace and will be completed within one year with federal funding.
The Prime Minister further said the Federal Government had released fifty billion rupees for the solarization of agricultural tube wells in Balochistan. In addition, seven Danish Schools are under construction in the province and are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
He added that one hundred thousand laptops and scholarships are also being provided to students in Balochistan, enabling them to pursue higher education without facing financial constraints.
