PTI founder not interested in talks, says Rana Sanaullah – SUCH TV

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah, said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered negotiations to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after consulting his leader, Nawaz Sharif and the establishment, but PTI founder Imran Khan is not interested in talks.

Speaking on a private TV program, Rana Sanaullah said the Islamabad High Court had outlined procedures for meeting with Imran Khan, specifying that no political activity should take place during such meetings.

However, he added, press conferences, political protests, and clashes have occurred after these meetings.

He mentioned that Salman Akram Raja had assured the court that procedures would be followed, adding that if jail authorities do not comply with court orders, direct legal recourse should be sought.

Regarding the appointment of the opposition leader, he said there should be no doubt about the government’s intent.

Rana Sanaullah said the Prime Minister offered negotiations after consulting Nawaz Sharif and the establishment, which the opposition should have accepted.

He criticised the opposition, saying they call for movements while the government offers talks, interpreting the offer as a trap.

He emphasised that Imran Khan does not want negotiations, warning that the PTI could face political losses due to its confrontational stance with the government.

Rana Sanaullah added that if PTI leaders pursue a “wheel-jam” protest on February 5, talks could resume afterwards, but continued confrontation with the state could harm PTI politically.
