Prime minister emphasises need for maintaining unity within the Muslim Ummah amid various challenges

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and cordial telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing fraternal ties between the two countries.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He also expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince’s affection, sincerity, and continued support toward Pakistan, noting that recent engagements had significantly elevated bilateral relations to new heights.
The prime minister emphasised the need for maintaining unity and harmony within the Muslim Ummah amid various challenges. He underlined that sustaining regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy remains essential.
Crown Prince Mohammed thanked the prime minister for the call and reiterated the Kingdom’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest. He expressed his intention to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in 2026.
In a related meeting, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz at the Prime Minister House and discussed recent regional and global developments and exchanged views on further enhancing cooperation.
The ambassador conveyed warm greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed, emphasising Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to fostering closer ties with Pakistan. Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations.
The prime minister reaffirmed his resolve to further deepen the historical and fraternal bonds between the two countries. He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s consistent support to Pakistan in times of need and its constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
