The National Institute of Health (NIH) has issued an alert over the spread of severe influenza, urging healthcare facilities to remain vigilant.
At Multan’s Nishtar Hospital, four patients have been confirmed with the H1N1 strain of influenza, according to hospital officials.
Sources at the hospital said that several patients currently under treatment were exhibiting mild symptoms associated with the H1N2 strain.
In total, 28 suspected cases of H1 and H2 influenza have been reported at the facility, raising concerns over a potential increase in infections.
Hospital authorities said no cases of the H3N2 strain had been confirmed so far.
Health officials have advised the public to adopt precautionary measures, including maintaining hygiene and seeking early medical attention if flu-like symptoms appear.
Medical experts warned that seasonal flu cases could rise further with changing weather conditions, stressing the need for timely diagnosis and preventive care.
