In order to give Islamabad a completely new look, the Capital Development Authority on Monday announced three mega projects.
Now the federal capital will have its own sports city, a seven-star hotel and international expo center.
The sports city will house a cricket stadium, a hotel where the players could live, parking and other facilities.
The CDA has marked different locations in the city for these projects.
However, the final approval will be given by the interior minister.
Services of world-renowned firms will be hired for the construction of the expo center, which would be adjacent to the seven-star hotel and the convention center.
The CDA has completed preparations for these projects.
On the other hand, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the Authority’s focus was on Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit for which the city would be given a completely new look.
He further said that there would be an expansion of the expo center and the convention center so that all events of the SCO could be held at these venues.
Randhawa elaborated that the expo center would later be used for national conferences and other grand official functions.
The CDA chairman said that the federal capital badly needed a seven-star hotel because its five-star hotels remained completely booked.
