ISLAMABAD, April 30, 2025 Pakistan hosted the inaugural Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum from April 29–30, 2025 in Islamabad, marking a pivotal moment in its ambition to become a regional digital powerhouse. The forum was organized by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication in collaboration with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).

Global Turnout and Investment Announcements:

The forum attracted over 700 delegates from 45+ countries, including 35 international ministers and official delegations. More than 50 global CEOs and 40+ international firms participated with around $700 million in foreign investment pledged for Pakistan ICT sector reflecting strong international confidence in the country’s digital economy.

Prime Ministerial Vision and National Policies:

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the forum, emphasizing that Pakistan is not waiting for the future but shaping it.” He announced a new initiative in collaboration with Huawei to train 200,000 youth in digital skills. (Profit by Pakistan Today)

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, outlined key policy initiatives, including the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, the National AI Policy, and the Cybersecurity Policy.
