Oath-taking ceremony of new SC judges postponed – SUCH TV

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has postponed today’s scheduled oath-taking ceremony for seven new judges, rescheduling it for Friday due to delays in official notifications.

The Ministry of Law and Justice issued the appointment notifications late last night for six permanent judges and one acting judge to the country’s highest court.

The new appointments include Justices Hashim Khan Kakar, Shafi Siddiqui, Salahuddin Panhwar, Shakeel Ahmed, Amir Farooq, and Ishtiaq Ibrahim as permanent judges.

Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has been designated as an acting judge of the Supreme Court, according to the ministry’s notification.

The delay in issuing these crucial notifications necessitated the rescheduling of the oath-taking ceremony, which was originally planned for today. The ministry has confirmed the new ceremony will take place on Friday.
