KARACHI – At least two people were injured in an explosion near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Sunday.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the scene, creating panic among the nearby localities.
Rescue and police teams have been dispatched to the site. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
According to SSP Malir, a loud explosion occurred near the airport signal in Karachi, injuring two people who have been shifted to the hospital.
SSP Malir stated that it initially appeared the explosion was caused by an oil tanker.
Police and Rangers personnel reached the site, along with fire brigade staff, who are trying to extinguish the fire in two vehicles.
Motorcycles also caught fire due to the explosion. The sound of the explosion was heard in areas around Karimabad, Defense, and Jamshed Road.
